About

Embroidery Aid was created out of a desire to have one place to help people learn the art of Machine Embroidery. This is a collaboration of Tips, Tricks and Tools of the Trade.

I am a wife and mother of three boys, Raleigh NC native, and a pediatric nurse. I have a passion for all things crafty. I began Machine Embroidery in 2016 and have since grown my side gig to earning six figures. I found it hard to learn in the beginning and wanted to help others to navigate the world of embroidery. I also want to empower other women to grow their own business. I am known as the “Embroidery Nurse” which is my online shop for monogrammed clothing and accessories.

These 4 are my wild and crazy, rough and tumble, sweet and silly crew! They are also my strongest supporters and have encouraged me along the way!

I am so excited you found Embroidery Aid. You probably have tons of questions, like what is Embroidery Aid?, How Did it begin?, Why did it begin?, What can I find here?!
My name is Kelly Payne and I have a passion for machine embroidery. I began dabbling in machine embroidery in 2016 when I purchased a 4×4 single needle embroidery machine on a local Buy, Sell, Trade page (similar to Facebook Marketplace). When I first opened the machine, I was so overwhelmed and in over my head. I love all things crafty so I assumed this would be easy to learn. I found it daunting, with no central location for information. Everyone I asked on forums gave different opinions on techniques, sometimes contradicting advice I had already received. My goal for Embroidery Aid is to be a central command center for Tips, Tricks and Tools of the Trade in Machine Embroidery.

I want to help those like me, who were eager to learn as much as they could about Machine Embroidery. Embroidery Aid is not just for the beginner, who we all can relate to. Embroidery Aid is also a great resource for anyone wanting to start an Embroidery side hustle as well as those who run a full time Embroidery Business.
Embroidery Aid is creating a podcast, which personally I am so into podcasts. Up until the start of Embroidery Aid Podcast, there was not a podcast dedicated to machine embroidery, I have created a ton of educational topics and I have intentions of interviewing influencers in the field of machine embroidery.

Weekly Stitchouts and “How To” videos can be found on YouTube, all filmed in my Embroidery Nurse craft studio. You can stitch along and ask questions as we work together on fun projects, or simply refer to a previously recorded video to learn different techniques.

Like all things, Machine Embroidery if ever changing, so to keep up with our business we need to continue to educate ourselves on the current trends. I hope we can learn from each other and have fun in the process. If there is ever anything you have questions about or would like to learn in more detail, please don’t hesitate to ask, I’m sure you are not the only one!!

Thank you for stopping by, I look forward to stitching with you soon! ~ Kelly
